2017 / 2018 Highlights

A season for the record books…

2017 – 2018 Overall Record Combined: 151-40 (79.1% win record, best ever)

Rosie McMahan became Sabres all-time Varsity scoring champion

Two Sabres coaches were selected as All Conference Coach of the Year (Edwards, Foulke)

First time Sabres had five teams (out of 5 categories) heading into NCHEAC regional tournament ranked #1 in their divisions.

First time VG won NCHEAC State title
First time VB won NCHEAC Regional tournament
First time VG & MSB won East Coast Nationals – Top Bracket

SWS has won 3 out of five State titles two years in a row.

Four NCHEAC Regional Championships: MSG, MSB, JVB, VB
One NCHEAC Regional runner-up: VG
Three NCHEAC State Championships: MSG, MSB, VG
One NCHEAC State runner-up: JVB

East Coast Nationals:
All six (6) SWS teams competed in Lynchburg. JVG team competed in the 18U girls division.
VG won the Grand Championship (1st place) of the 18U Girls (out of 26 teams)
JVG finished 10th out of 26 teams in the 18U Girls
MSG finished 2nd out of 8 teams in the 14U Girls
VB won the 4A Bracket Championship of the 18U Boys (17th out of 32 teams)
JVB finished 6th out of 20 teams in the 16U Boys
MSB won the 3A Bracket Championship of the 14U Boys (1st out of 12 teams)
Brought home 3 banners (VG, VB, MSB)
Kenzie Hart won MVP of the East Coast Nationals for 18U Girls
Three pt contest winners: 14UG-Abbie George, 16UB-Austin Manley
