The South Wake Sabres Baseball tryouts for new and returning players are scheduled to be held on Friday, October 25th at the Canes Gilchrist field. The address is 2009 Pagan Road, Raleigh, NC 27603. Invite your homeschool friends with baseball experience!
The South Wake Sabres is a highly competitive athletics program for homeschooled student-athletes who are in middle school and high school. We seek to provide our players with baseball training as well as guidance related to good character development, teamwork, and integrity in an environment centered on exemplifying behaviors and teachings of Christ as presented in the Bible.
Players should attend the tryouts by the following age brackets:
Age eligibility by team is determined as of August 1, 2024. A player must be the age listed or under after the team name. (Player selection will be based on age and skill level.)
Middle School – 13U (Age bracket is 13 or under)
Junior Varsity – 16U (Age bracket is 16 or under)
Varsity – 18U (Age bracket is 18 or under)
MANDATORY PARENT MEETING (at least one parent MUST attend one):
- Thursday, October 17, 2024 – virtual meeting on Zoom (link sent later)
- Tuesday, October 22, 2024– virtual meeting on Zoom (link sent later)
TRYOUT DATES/TIMES:
Friday, October 25, 2024

If your son plans to tryout, you MUST register online. NOTE: this is a separate registration from the fall workouts. Please arrive approximately 15-20 minutes prior to the tryout time in order to check-in at the registration table.
Required items to be completed before tryouts:
- Player online registration is required by going to https://registration.teamsnap.com/form/14733 to complete the online player registration process prior to arriving at tryouts. NOTE: we have changed our registration process to use TeamSnap this year so it will work slightly differently.
- Birth certificate. You will have an opportunity during registration to upload a picture of your son’s birth certificate. If you do not want to do that, please bring a copy of the birth certificate to tryouts to show at the registration table.
- Mandatory Parent Meeting- must be attended by at least one parent (see scheduled times above on this tryout announcement sheet) There will be a sign in sheet.
After the end of the regular season, we are planning for the Varsity team to attend the NACA Baseball Tournament near Chattanooga, TN from May 6-9, 2025.
